Hugh and Catherine's Garden
Williams Land is an old burgage plot which has been gardened for centuries.
Its cottage garden feel is maintained with vegetables, fruit and flowers at the front, and in the more private, south-facing rear garden which overlooks the hillside beyond. We have added borders, planted trees and marginal plants around a pond and are waiting for climbing roses to cover the new trellis above the lower stone wall. The pelargonium in the pot on our patio came from Peter Bridgeman. Elizabeth Seagar (who wrote the gardening column in the Oxford Times as Dilly Halpin) gave it to Peter.
